uBu, an ensemble for new concert performances, explores music as a physical and social event. Three musicians, three dancers, and a costume designer came together in Cologne in 2016 to reinterpret B. A. Zimmermann’s trio “Présence.”Awarded the Pergamenschikow Prize in 2016, numerous collaborations with renowned festivals and artists followed.

In its collectively developed performances, uBu is interested in consciously crossing the boundaries of traditional formats, role attributions, and artistic disciplines, while composing new forms of togetherness. Surreal and absolutely uButopian.

The ensemble has reached Level 4 (“Group Consciousness”) in the game The Mind.
