ORBIT

Tara Khozein is a soprano, songmaker, improviser, teacher, and theater artist. She has lived and worked throughout the United States and Europe. As a multidisciplinary performer, she explores classical singing, direct address, and pan-idiomatic vocal sounds in concert and theatrical settings. She is also a vocal coach and music director for the theater as well as a stage director for musicians. She has performed as a soloist with major institutions and festivals including Oper Köln, the Bregenz Festival, the Cologne Philharmonic, Roulette Intermedium, The Watermill Center, MusikTheaterTage Wien, and the Budapest Music Center. Her current collaborations include projects with painter Zahra Marwan, filmmaker Godfrey Reggio, composer/improviser Nate Wooley, fine artist Brian Belott, flute player Jesse Tatum, and the members of her improvisation quintet, Kat & the Devil. She is based in Brooklyn, New York and Budapest, Hungary.
