Oxana Omelchuk
Oxana Omelchuk, born in Belarus, completed her master’s degree in Composition under Prof. Johannes Fritsch and studied Electronic Composition under Prof. Michael Beil. Her compositions have premiered at various festivals including Acht Brücken Cologne (2011, 2013), Munich Biennale (2012), Donaueschingen Music Days (2012), Eclat (2015), Wien Modern (2015, 2018), Afekt (Tallinn) (2016), Musikprotokoll Graz (2017), Ars Musica Brussels (2018), and Warsaw Autumn (2018). She has received various awards and scholarships, including the DAAD Scholarship in 2003, the Bernd-Alois-Zimmermann Scholarship from the city of Cologne in 2006, a residency scholarship at the artist village Schöppingen in 2007, the Baldreit Scholarship from the city of Baden-Baden in 2009, and a residency scholarship at the artist residency Villa Aurora in Los Angeles, USA in 2018. In 2019, she was nominated for the German Music Authors’ Prize in the category “Ensemble with Electronics”.
