Michael Maierhof
Michael Maierhof, born in Fulda, is a freelance composer based in Hamburg. He explores oscillating systems and, in recent years, has also delved into the musicalization of LED lights. He researches circling on hybrid surfaces, prepares motors, investigates complex sounds and pauses, and studies undertone and overpressure phenomena. He studied music and mathematics in Kassel, as well as philosophy and art history in Hamburg. He is a co-founder of the artist network “stock11.de” and the Association for Contemporary Music Hamburg. He has received various composition awards, such as the German Music Authors’ Prize in 2019, and in 2024, he is nominated again in the composition category for percussion.
