Jan Patrick Brandt trained as a stage painter at the Cologne City Theatres. He then studied stage design at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Prof. Johannes Schütz and subsequently worked as a stage design assistant at the Dortmund Schauspielhaus.
Jan P. Brandt has been working as a freelance stage and costume designer since 2016. His work includes engagements at the Schauspielhaus Dortmund, Junges Theater Bonn, Grenzlandtheater Aachen, Volxbühne Theater an der Ruhr, FWT Cologne, FFT Düsseldorf, for Paradeiser Productions, the Sommerblut Festival Cologne, TBM Bonn, and Atonal Theater.
