Jakob Boeckh focuses on creating spaces, situations, and images that transport the audience into other worlds and realities. Collective working methods and a continual re-exploration of the tools used are essential parts of Jakob’s practice, spanning from “traditional” spoken theater and opera to concert pieces and more experimental, interactive live and online formats. After studying Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen, Boeckh completed the Stage Design class at the HFBK Hamburg. Special emphasis is placed on the design of visual experiences and images, whether through space, light, or camera imagery, often within the context of contemporary music theater.
