Isabel Osthues
Studied German Studies (with a focus on theater and media), phonetics, and philosophy in Hamburg. Assistant director at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, primarily with Christoph Marthaler. Since 1997, she has been a freelance director in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, mainly in theater. She has a pronounced interest in contemporary drama, hence she has directed many German premieres and world premieres.
Key stations include the Schauspielhaus Zurich, the Thalia Theater, and the Young Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, the Luzerner Theater, the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, the Theater Heidelberg, and currently the Deutsches Theater Göttingen. She has created her own adaptations for young audiences at the Staatstheater Oldenburg, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and the Young Schauspielhaus in Hamburg.
In addition, since 2018, she has been teaching directing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Hamburg.
