Georgia Koumará

Georgia Koumará is a freelance composer and musician whose sonic world is shaped by noise, glitches, polyrhythmic energy, and extended instruments. She combines acoustic preparation with modular synths, self-built controllers, and complex, tentacular narrative thinking. Her work ranges from orchestral compositions to electroacoustic installations.

She has received numerous awards, including the Stuttgart Composition Prize 2025 and the Ernst von Siemens Progetto Positano Fellowship. Koumará is a founding member of the collective 3:6Koeln and collaborates internationally with ensembles, festivals, and interdisciplinary partners. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Junge Kolleg NRW; her first portrait album was released in 2026 on WERGO. She has been based in Cologne since 2014.
