Fritz Hauser
Percussion
Fritz Hauser, born in 1953 in Basel (Switzerland), develops solo programmes for percussion, which he performs worldwide. He has composed works for percussion ensembles and soloists, chamber orchestra, choir, as well as sound installations, and has created interdisciplinary projects spanning theatre, dance, film, radio drama, and architecture.
As a percussionist, he performs and collaborates with percussion soloists and ensembles around the globe. He has recorded numerous CDs both as a soloist and with various ensembles.
Fritz Hauser received the City of Basel Culture Prize in 2012 and the Basel-Landschaft Culture Prize in the category of music in 1996. In summer 2018, he was Composer-in-Residence at the Lucerne Festival. In 2022, he was awarded the prestigious Swiss Music Prize.
