Eva-Maria Baumeister

Eva-Maria Baumeister, who studied directing at the Folkwang University in Essen and Amsterdam, works as a director, curator, and author at the intersection of (music) theater, radio drama, performance, and artistic research. In 2006, she founded the Kaltstart Festival in Hamburg. In the 2013/14 season, she served as artistic director of the Young Theater in Göttingen alongside dramaturge Udo Eidinger. From 2015 to 2017, she was the artistic director of the two-year pilot project SEEING THE CITY FROM THE OTHER SIDE at the Schauspiel Köln, together with urban planner Isabel Finkenberger. Her recent directorial works include VANISHING PLACES (2019/2020 theater and radio drama for WDR), I FEEL STUPID… (radio drama, DLF 2021). In 2023, she was a fellow of the Women’s Cultural Office NRW. In the summer of 2024, her project MOTHERHOOD. A CHOIR will premiere in Cologne.
