Elisabeth Coudoux

Violoncello

Elisabeth Coudoux is a cellist, composer, and performance artist working in the field of free improvisation and contemporary music. Her work explores how musical form emerges through interaction—how sound, attention, and decisions within a group bring structures into being in real time.

Rather than realizing predetermined concepts, she develops music from what is already present. People, sounds, and situations become the starting point for shared musical movement. With an expanded sonic vocabulary on the cello, a strong sense of form, and a playful curiosity, she moves between individual gesture and collective dynamics.

Coudoux performs internationally at festivals such as the Moers Festival, All Ears, Météo Festival, Roskilde Festival, Krakow Jazz Autumn, Chicago String Summit, and artacts.
