Carlota Ramos
Carlota Ramos is a Portuguese double bassist currently enrolled in the MA New Music Ensemble Practice program at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Lisbon, Portugal, she moved to Cologne, Germany, where she obtained a Master’s degree in double bass solo performance. Her interest in various musical genres has led her to perform with the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, the EOS Ensemble, the Pina Bausch Foundation, the Quarteto Tango para Ti, the Notabu.ensemble, and others at various festivals such as the Moers Festival, Achtbrücken, Warsaw Autumn Festival, the Monnheim Triennale, and the Jazzfest Bonn. Projects like the Studio MusikFabrik under the direction of Peter Veale and Florentin Ginot, the Remix Ensemble Academy with Peter Rundel, or the European Workshop for Contemporary Music with Rüdiger Bohn have helped to further develop her curiosity and knowledge and regularly collaborate with composers.
